The Inner Conflict

The Inner Conflict by Vikash Kalra is a deeply expressive contemporary portrait exploring the tension between inner thought, emotion, and human experience. A partially concealed face emerges from a dark atmospheric composition, creating a sense of mystery and psychological depth.

Deep black, charcoal grey, muted green, and turquoise tones dominate the painting, with vivid red and orange accents breaking through the darker surface. Layered brushwork, scraped textures, overlapping marks, and fragmented forms give the portrait a powerful Abstract Expressionist character.

The contrast between concealed and revealed forms suggests themes of identity, vulnerability, memory, and emotions hidden beneath the visible surface. Its dramatic palette makes it suitable for modern residences, creative studios, offices, galleries, boutique hotels, and private collections.
