Blue Reflection

Blue Reflection is an original acrylic painting by contemporary Indian artist Vikash Kalra exploring identity, perception and the relationship between the visible and imagined. A fragmented portrait is built from expressive brushwork, bold outlines and layered textures in blue, turquoise, green, yellow, black and white.

The recognizable face remains partly abstract, allowing different expressions and interpretations to emerge from the composition. Strong lines and energetic surrounding forms give the work a raw, spontaneous quality associated with abstract expressionism.
