A sacred form, rebuilt in geometry
Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and the deity of wisdom, prosperity and new beginnings. Vikash Kalra keeps that meaning and changes the language. Instead of a smooth carved figure, this Ganesha is assembled from sharp, angular facets of polished stainless steel, with raised arms, a faceted crown and a trident rising beside him, all set on an eight-sided base.
The mirror finish is the point. The sculpture reflects its surroundings, so in a garden it carries the green of the leaves and the sky, and in a lobby it picks up the light and the room. It looks different from the front, from the side and from a few steps away.
